This spring, ISIS Arts, BEK, Maur Prosjekter og Galleri 3,14 curated a video screening program with artists from South Africa. The screening was a part of this summer’s exhibition Contemporary Artists from South Africa, and was also excepted at the Digital Art Festival in Sofia 13. – 17. September. Now, in December, ISIS Arts is presenting the program in the Eldon Square Shopping Centre in Newcastle.

Asbjørn Blokkum Flø is currently working on a new BEK-commissioned music piece. He describes his work as follows: -Analogique IX is a 60 minute long electronic music piece where I try to get back to the electronic music’s musical core through a limitation in materials and methods. In connection with this work I will investigate new artistic concepts and compositional techniques._

Thorolf Thuestad from BEK runs the electronic processing when the BIT20 ensemble invites to Arne Norheim’s memorial concert in Håkonshallen the 21st of November. The cooperation between Thorolf Thuestad and BIT20 is a sequel from a larger Nordheim project that BEK was a part of in 2006.

Following Transiteatret’s performance Ressentiment, BEK will organise a seminar on sound design in stage productions. The sound design in Ressentiment was developed in collaboration with BEK, and we want to present the results at this seminar.

Monday 6, Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 December BEK runs a VPT workshop. HC Gilje will provide a basic introduction to the use of a video projection tool he has developed. The workshop will consist of introduction, setup to get started, and then groups of three people each will work “hands on” testing different projections. Free admission. Ressentiment – Pavane til en død prinsesse premieres at DNS Thuesday 23. November at 19.00, and is played the following 4 days. In the performance we follow a scientist who in his meeting with a scientific committee, discloses his test results but gets bigger and bigger problems, and is ultimately rejected. In this manner Transiteatret adresses natural science’s tendency to describe people using fixed sizes, and what this might entail. Tickets: 200,/100, at DNS ticket office
