Temporary Museum: Microscopic Power of Food Practices

Video documentation: Paul Johannessen

Temporary Museum: Microscopic Power of Food Practices (TM:MPFP) by GaraGara Artist Initiative, installation

The installation is shown as part of the exhibition Latent City at Bergen Kjøtt 12 – 29 November. During the whole exhibition period this presentation of the project will be available online here. Read more about the project and the artists here.

Can artistic methods be used to critically engage with present day behaviours around eating and consumption? TM:MPFP is an artistic speculation on food practices in relation to health, politics, culture and society. Food-biopolitics questions how the agency of food relates to genes, cell fragments, proteins, enzymes, bacteria and fungi and in a larger context to contemporary politics. GaraGara explores ideas related to food-biopolitics on a local and international scale.
