Post Capitalistic Auction

Post Capitalistic Auction is an auction and a performance, where new rules and new currencies are introduced. All audiences are welcome to participate in the bidding, or they can simply watch the drama unfold. Bids are made through the brand new bidding software, programmed and designed by Stian Remvik and Stian Sørensen at BEK.

Benedicte Leinan Clementsen – GUISE

GUISE is Benedicte Leinan Clementsen’s first solo exhibition, opening at Prosjektrom Normanns in Stavanger Friday 12.november. There she shows a 4-channel video installation about how we relate to our pets. The work was produced, using BEK’s equipment and was set up in collaboration with Stian Remvik (BEK) with the help of the Multiscreener software.

ATK for Reaper – beta 6

A new version of Ambisonic Toolkit for Reaper has ben released. This version fixes an issue where the name of the plugins would be pretty useless in REAPER 5.

Music Tech Fest is the free festival of music ideas, mixing performances and experiments, hacks, demos, and installations. Since 2012 Music Tech Fest has been redefining how music is perceived, performed and experienced. It is now time to build some new formats for music.

Latest developments in spatial audio and computer aided composition tools from IRCAM

3 leading researchers from IRCAM visit Oslo for a series of presentations, workshops and round-table discussions relating to spatial audio and computer aided composition. The meetings take place at fourMs lab at University of Oslo and Norwegian Academy of Music, with additional participation from BEK, NOTAM and the Grieg Academy.

The meeting is a follow up to the collaboration between BEK, Anders Vinjar and Ircam over the past 1 1/2 year regarding porting OpenMusic to Linux.

ATK for Reaper Public Beta (version 1.0.b3)

Ambisonic Toolkit for Reaper is now available as a public beta. While there is a well-established workflow for stereo production in DAWs, options have been more limited when working with Ambisonics. The Ambisonic Toolkit (ATK) brings together a number of tools and transforms for working with first order Ambisonic surround sound, and includes intriguing possibilities for spatial soundfield imaging.

The SpatDIF library – Concepts and Practical Applications in Audio Software

Jan Schacker, Chikashi Miyama and Trond Lossius will present a poster at the joint ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference in Athens, Greece. The paper presents recent development of a `libspatdif’ C/C++ software library for SpatDIF, the Spatial Sound Description Interchange Format, as well as prototype implementations in Max, Pure Data and OpenFrameworks making use of the library.

ATK Reaper: The Ambisonic Toolkit as JSFX plugins

Trond Lossius and Joseph Anderson will present a poster at the joint ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference in Athens, Greece. The paper presents a port of the Ambisonic Toolkit as a series of plugins for the Reaper DAW. ATK for Reaper brings both a comprehensive composition workflow model, the sound-field sound-image paradigm, and a set of versatile tools for working with Ambisonics to the DAW environment.
