Did you miss The Table Turns during Oktoberdans 2016, or want to see the performance again? On January 28 og 19 you have the chance to see it at Wrap!

Karen Eide Bøen and Roar Sletteland have created a dance performance for four turntables and a dancer, where they examine the relationship between body, sound, turntables and room. The Table Turns is about freedom and power on the dance floor. It’s about LPs, stored movement, solidified vibrations and sound that revived matter.

This weekend BEK hosts a workshop where you can build your own unique DIY digital effect pedal based on the Raspberry PI computer and Csound.

On that occasion Utmark presents a concert, where you can experience how COSMO Collective use DIY electronics and custom software written in Csound!

BEK will run a half-day seminar on the use of live camera sollutions in installations and performances. Through a presentation of recent project, we’ll dig into possibilities and problems when we put cameras on stage. Presenters: Gisle Martens Meyer, Marieke Verbiesen and Lars Ove Toft.

The Art of Violin Playing is a Neither Nor music-theatre production for 2 violinists, 2 dancers, 4 robotic arms, vocalist, electronics + additional performers. A work-in-progress performance will be given at o espaço do tempo, Portugal, on August the 29th and again at Cornerteatret, Bergen, on September the 9th. Thorolf Thuestad has been busy at BEKs project space this summer, developing the 4 robotic wooden arms for the show.

Static theatre is a new type of theatre researched and experimented on by Jingyi Wang. She looks at the collaboration between visual arts, electronic arts and theatre, but also the boundary between exhibition and performance in an attempt to seek out the theatre’s essence as an art form. BEK has developed hardware and contributed with artistic and practical advisory. Performances at Studio USF 3. May at 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00

Material Vision – Silent Reading is a film and series of prints by Espen Sommer Eide, based on the creation of new musical instruments and a performance developed on Bear Island. Exhibition opening at Trykkeriet, and filmscreening at Landmark.

On sunday the 5th of October, artist & engineer Jacob Sikker Remin will give a workshop in building your very own synth; the CFO: Cheap, Fat & Open.

Over the past year Stian has been using Raspberry Pi for a number of his own projects, as well as for video playback solutions in several projects by other artists at BEK.

He has set up a web page where he collects hints and howtos for others that want to start working on RaspberryPi.
