Reality-based Audio Workshop will work experimentally with documentary audio recordings in Struer 23.08 – 07.09.2019 to create a new sound piece to be presented during Struer Tracks 2019. The group will address issues around ‘land use’ to highlight changes in the landscape that is happening because of our ever-increasing reliance on digital, global communications.

We will be back from Summer holidays at BEK from August 5th, and will start the season off with Reality-based Audio Workshop at Struer Tracks, book presentation of “Elektrisk lyd i Norge” (“Electric Sound in Norway”) and concert, and a concert with Loud Matter at Østre.

This five-day workshop on experimental nonfiction audio composition for experienced artists will provide an opportunity to create audio works which explore notions of ‘place’, where equal emphasis is placed on the practice of recording and on the tasks of listening back, making selections, and composing edited pieces with those selections.

As part of a short term residency at SCRIME Trond Lossius participates in a three day workshop on ambisonics and field recording. The workshop will be used to test out new ambisonic recording gear at SCRIME, field recordings and listening sessions, and offer an introduction to how to work with ambisonics in Reaper using the Ambisonic Toolkit.

Trond Lossius contributes to a workshop at SCRIME – Studio de Création et de Recherche en Informatique et Musique Electro-acoustique at Université de Bordeaux.

He will discuss his use of surround field recordings in his artistic practice, and share his aesthetically and practical experience working with such recordings.
