Adriana Alves’ projects are often based on ponderings about our present, where doubt and distrust patches together a fragmented visual expression.

Mass Media’s role, or roles, in contemporary culture is often gestalted in her works through references to film, popular culture and theater.

On the other hand, there is also an introvert approach, a questioning of what is almost a superstitious view on the individual, a powerless ego, framed in structures which it hopelessly is trying to tear down. These impossible experiments are amplified by the use of several video works being played simultaneously and / or by repetition.
