The exhibition “Grøne sjøar og blått blod” at Kabuso

Saturday 16th February at 14.30 the exhibition Grøne sjøar og blått blod opens at Kabuso. The exhibition include Folgefonna as main focus. Artists Carl Martin Hansen, Glenn Erik Haugland and Heidi Tronsmo presents drifts through a wide variety of expressions. BEK has contributed to the videowork of Carl Martin Hansen.

Alog + Signe Lidén / Haco / Nils Økland / Helge Sten at Bergen Kjøtt

Alog, in collaboration with Signe Lidén will perform at Action Jazz, a new concert series for experimental music at Bergen Kjøtt. The Japanese composer and vocalist Haco, who also presents her music at BEK Friday 30 November, will perform. And if that’s not enough, Nils Økland and Helge Sten is coming.

Auksalaq: a climate-change opera # 22:00 at the Grieg Academy

The world premiere for the award-winning telematic opera Auksalaq will take place on October 29th, to be performed simultaneously between venues in the Phillips Collection in Washington DC; the Lu Magnus Gallery in New York City; the University of Alaska Museum of the North; the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway; McGill University in Montreal, Quebec; Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and the University of Virginia. BEK contributes with equipment.

Stephan Meidell – Museum II

”MUSEUM II”, commisioned by Ny Musikk Kristiansand was performed at the Edge Of Wrong Festival in Kristiansand 22. September, and will be performed at the Sound Silo (Avgarde) 13. October in Bergen. BEK supports the project with equipment for documentation.

Lemur in Nidarosdomen

The musical ensemble Lemur will have their world premiere 22nd September in Trondheim on their latest project Critical Band. The sound of the cathedral and the listening experience will be the main key in this atmospheric night concert. BEK has supported the project with production space, resources and equipment.

Lydverkeri (Soundworks)

For the opening of Stavanger Konserthus, Ole Hamre has been commisioned to compose a new work that will be performed outdoor. Soloists are Arve Henriksen (trumpet), Jan Heinke (vocals) and Ståle Storløkken (keyboards). In addition veteran boats on the harbor joins in as part of the composition.

The software and server solution for communication with the boats has been developed at BEK.

Busy festival summer for Birk

Over the summer Birk has provided live video for a number of concerts at festivals in Norway and abroad, working with the jazz trio Jøkleba, the bands Vanilla Riot, The Megaphonic Thrift, Young Dreams and The New Wine, as well as rap artist Lars Vaular.

Live Animation Workshop at Click New Media Art Festival

Marieke Verbiesen will be in Copenhagen to give a live animation workshop and collaborative performance at the Click New Media Art Festival in Helsingør Denmark.

Three Cities Project: Live Event – MUSA, Aberdeen

Three Cities Project is an ongoing artistic and cultural exchange between the three cities of Aberdeen, Bergen and St Petersburg. An evening program at MUSA in Aberdeen will showcase a rich variety of new sound and audiovisual works by Ross Whyte, Pete Stollery, Trond Lossius and Suk-Jun Kim as well as work by communities from the cities.
