October 31. Trond Lossius opens his sound installation “The Place Sound Builds in Passing” in collaboration with Bergen Baroque at the Foundation 3.14 in Vågsbunnen. Recorded audio from different outdoor areas is moved into the gallery and transforms the sonic environment in a room that has its own history, its own soundscape and a distinctive acoustic.
As part of the realization of the project Critical Band, Lemur and Bjørnar Habbestad were conducting acoustic tests and a workshop with musicians from the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. The work led up to the concert at the festival Tectonics in April.

Two commissioned works by BEK at this years Ekko Festival: Asbjørn Flø with Ratkje, Rishaug & Tafjord – ‘Analogikk’ and Stephan Meidell with Birk Nygaard – ‘Dialogues’
The festival also presents exhibition works supported by BEK: «Dialogues Prologue» by Stephan Meidell & Birk Nygaard and «Mayhem Machine» by Marieke Verbiesen.

In addition to Warp and Weft, BEK contributed to a fue more events at the Borealis festival this year.
The prog black metal band Enslaved and multi-percussionist Ole Hamre has been commissioned to write a new work for The Tall Ships Races 2014 Bergen. They will perform from the front deck of Statsraad Lehmkuhl Saturday evening, and the concert involves the participation of many of the ships at the harbour.
BEK has developed the technology that enables communication between the musicians and the boats.

Aria ex Aria by Anders Vinjar is commisioned by BEK.
On the occasion of the elpee release of musical duo THE JIST, there was a big celebration at landmark with music, performances, dance and art. BEK has supported Henrik Koppen with equipment for his performance. The materials he will be performing with are: glass bottles, birch sap, projection and a funnel. The performance will last for 20 minutes.
In cooperation with the Belgium label Seismographic Fabric we launch the album ‘frihet, samspill, isolasjon’ with contributions from Sigbjørn Apeland, Kris Delacourt, Espen Sommer Eide, Knut Vaage, Anne Marthe Dyvi, Signe Lidén and Dag-Are Haugan. The record is a double vinyl with cover by artist Jochem vanden Ecker.
LEMUR (No) feat. Benjamin Maumus (FR)
In Mikrophonie Lemur explores the musical possibilities existing inside the ensemble’s instruments. The public can access Lemurs distinctive sound world through headphones, creating a unique listening situation. The piece is a tribute to Stockhausen’s work of the same title, and relates to how the ensemble uses microphones to extract almost inaudible sounds.
