Loud Matter is a series of interactive instruments by Marieke Verbiesen. Each installation contains a number of custom-made interfaces including touchpads, joysticks and gesture controlled devices that allow visitors to manipulate several audiovisual compositions.

Loud Matter opens at Atelier Nord ANX Thursday January 26th at 19.00, with live performance, food and DJ-set. BEK has co-produced the exhibition.

This weekend BEK hosts a workshop where you can build your own unique DIY digital effect pedal based on the Raspberry PI computer and Csound.

On that occasion Utmark presents a concert, where you can experience how COSMO Collective use DIY electronics and custom software written in Csound!

BEK is co-producing several projects for this years Bergen Assembly. Since 2014 we have developed content together with Bergen Assembly-curators, artists and administration. It has been a deep digging experience, and we are looking forward to see, hear and feel the results.

Espen Sommer Eide is exhibiting his sound work “The Distribution Of The Audible” at Øyafestivalen from the 9th-13th of August. The work consist of approximately 30 sound clips recorded all over the world and played through old horn speakers at the festival.

ToBe Continued is an original concert lasting 24 hours, during which musicians from many parts of the World will be connected to a website that broadcast their concerts. Stephan Meidell will be performing from BEK 1230-1300 (CET), and Trond Lossius will be performing at 1430-1500 (CET).

Six female experimental musicians from Cairo visit Borealis 2016, giving a concert at Østre. While in Bergen they will also be introduced to surround and ambisonic sound and music production during a workshop in collaboration between Borealis, BEK and Lydgalleriet.

MULTI is a concert series presenting music and sound pieces for multichannel surround sound, exploring the musical and artistic expressions this setup reveals. The Borealis festival premiers new works by Anders Vinjar, Kari Telstad Sundet and Julian Skar.

At Friday December 11th 2015 at Landmark in Bergen we will serve a program of concerts, videos, animations, net art, light art, performances and noise. Something from the archives, but mostly in the form of freshly squeezed contemporary juice. Accompanied by refreshments, speeches and conversations we want you to join us through a full night in honour of BEK, art, artists, art production and audiences for 15 years.
