Gisle Martens Meyer’s commissioned work Bow Corpse for BIT20 Ensemble premieres at Nattjazz. Some development is done at BEKs Sound Studio & Project Room, and Friday 16. at 12.00 Gisle will present the main features in his project, and play some samples.
Lang Sang Produksjoner, Karen Eide Bøen and Eva Pfitzenmaier, worked on a development of the performance Stål i ben og armer this autumn. Bergen dansesenter participated with production space, and BEK supported the rehearsals with equipment.
Rory Knudtson has been editing a promotional video in our video studio, for her joint-film venture between Bergen, Norway and the United States. Her stay at BEK also gave her the opportunity to conduct meetings with producers and artists, as well as scout locations and collect images for the upcoming film.
In our sound studio this week, it’s rehearsal time for Kvien & Sommer’s upcoming concert at Utmark. The preparations crystelize at Landmark, Bergen Kunsthall, Friday 5. Dec. at 22.00.
The Viva Voce of Ellen Røed, artistic research fellow at Bergen Academy of Arts and Design, takes place November 12th.
Her project has the title “Processing Change”.
SOLUND LIGHT ART FESTIVAL 2014 focuses on light as a medium for art and experiences. The goal of the project is to create a local, national and international commitment for light and visual expression. Solund municipality is located where the Sognefjord meets the North sea, and much of the activities will take place in and around Hardbakke center, in the November darkness.
October 31. Trond Lossius opens his sound installation “The Place Sound Builds in Passing” in collaboration with Bergen Baroque at the Foundation 3.14 in Vågsbunnen. Recorded audio from different outdoor areas is moved into the gallery and transforms the sonic environment in a room that has its own history, its own soundscape and a distinctive acoustic.
The composer and musician Benjamin Thigpen is currently artist in residency at USF. In addition to electroacoustic composition, he performs live as an electronic musician. On September 2 Rust (Jean-François Laporte and Benjamin Thigpen) will give a concert and post-concert presentation at the Landmark, in Bergen. The will use and discuss the new instrumental configurations that they have been developing over the past year. BEK supports the residency. The concert is organised by Ny Musikk Bergen.

There is a tone, not yet sounded was a performance by Elisabeth Færøy Lund and Asa Shimada, which took place at Galleri Split on 29th and 30th of March.
