Future DiverCities : artistic connection builds a creative union!
As a key partner of the international collaboration between 9 cultural organisations, BEK is proud to announce that “Future DiverCities” has received the official support of the European Commission as part of the Creative Europe Program.

Maximum information per unit of time

Anne Marthe Dyvi and Gisle Frøysland have created new works for the exhibition «Maksimal informasjon per tidsenhet!» at Bergen Art Museum, KODE. A grand presentation of the artist Rolf Aamot. Dyvis Perseptuell cycle, video, have been created at BEK. BEK have also been engaged in conversations about the Rolf Aamot exhibition in general.

Sara Rajaei – artist in residency

The video artist and film maker Sara Rajaei (IR/NL) is invited as artist in residency in Bergen. During the stay she is commissioned to produce a new video work, shot in 4K, to be presented in future film and video screenings and gallery exhibitions. The residency is part of Circulating AiR at Stiftelsen 3,14 and make use of production facilities at BEK.

Exhibition at Kristiansand kunsthall

The exhibition at Kristiansand kunsthall by Sveinung Rudjord Unneland was partly developed at BEK. The sound installation integrated in a sculptural work.

Doing Time

The film Doing Time (2015) by Anne Marthe Dyvi is exhibited at Krognoshuset in Lund, Sweden. The work was made at BEK for the exhibition LOKALT 2015 in the old prison in Bergen.

MULTI: Lydkino

MULTI is a concert series presenting music and sound pieces for multichannel surround sound, exploring the musical and artistic expressions this setup reveals. The Borealis festival premiers new works by Anders Vinjar, Kari Telstad Sundet and Julian Skar.

Artist Talk: Ximena Alarcón

The artist and researcher Ximena Alarcón from CRISAP (Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice) visits BEK in week 7. Friday February 19 she will give an artist talk, presenting her artistic practise, and also discuss her ongoing work on ‘Sound Matters: a framework for the creative use and re-use of sound’.

Artist talk – Gunhild Mathea Olaussen

Gunhild Mathea Olaussen is a fellow at the Fellowship Program for Artistic Research, Norwegian Theatre Academy, Østfold University College. Here at BEK, on Friday 20 Nov. kl. 13.00, she speaks about the main trends in her private research work and her planned projects in 2016. We start with a small lunch.

BEK 15 years anniversary!

At Friday December 11th 2015 at Landmark in Bergen we will serve a program of concerts, videos, animations, net art, light art, performances and noise. Something from the archives, but mostly in the form of freshly squeezed contemporary juice. Accompanied by refreshments, speeches and conversations we want you to join us through a full night in honour of BEK, art, artists, art production and audiences for 15 years.
