WELCOME TO LOKALT 2015
Three generations and a total of 27 artists opens a group exhibition in the old jail in the middle of Bergen city center the 25th of September 2015 at 19.00h. This is not intended as a homogeneous exhibition, but an attempt to show the contemporary local art scene in Bergen.
Røster III takes the listener on an aural journey through a series of sound tableauxs carefully sculptured and arranged by the artist’s archive of field recordings from the Røst Arcipelago, in Lofoten, Northern Norway between 2010 and 2015.
An evening of expressive Live-electronics and visuals by Tijs Ham, Bjornar Habbestad & Birk Nygård. The turbulances within the tubes of the flute are matched by the complex behaviors of feedback mixers. And if this isn’t enough… we also have lasers!
Material Vision – Silent Reading is a film and series of prints by Espen Sommer Eide, based on the creation of new musical instruments and a performance developed on Bear Island. Exhibition opening at Trykkeriet, and filmscreening at Landmark.

Gitar improviser, Stephan Meidell, uses video footage and animations created by the Turkish artist Tolga Balci, when performing materials from his solo album “Cascades”. This has now been documented at Bergen Kjøtt, and BEK has helped with equipment.
OpenMusic is a software tool for computer-aided composition. In follow up to a introduction workshop at BEK a year ago, two of the participants have been commissioned to compose small works or etudes. In this meetup Marcus Davidson and Jostein Stalheim will present the outcomes of their work, and reflect on the process of learning and using OpenMusic.
Trond Lossius og Jeremy Welsh deltar i kunsthappeningen og utstillingen Oversettelser ved Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall i Arendal. Elever og barnehagebarn møter musikere, dansere, installasjons-, lyd- og videokunstnere for å lage møtepunkter mellom det performative, den kunsten som skjer i øyeblikket, og det installative, den romlige kunsten. Oversettelser er kuratert av LEMUR.
Rural Reading Room is a series of collective actions that aim at reconfiguring objects, materials and sounds, highlighting the materiality of the landscape. The format consists of a tabletop, where the arrangement of objects placed on the table reconstruct a fragmented, concrete and material landscape.
BEK supported the project with equipment.
Kjersti Sundland and Anne Bang Steinsvik’s installation Conjoin opens at Bergen Kjøtt on Thursday 22. of January. BEK has collaborated with the artists to develop solutions that utilize audio signals as triggers for light and video images. Programming by Stian Remvik.
