Bjørg Taranger: Det hvite toget

Bjørg Taranger’s project Det hvite toget (The White Train) is a video installation projected onto the large windows in Kunstgarasjen. BEK has been consultant during the development of the project, Lars Ove Toft has set up the sound and the media players in the exhibition space, and Stian Remvik has mapped the videos onto the many window surfaces by using MadMapper.

The Instrument Makers

The developers at BEK would agree with the idea that they could be compared to an instrument maker when they develop software for artists; although BEK’s intention is primarily to enable artists to develop the instruments themselves.

Launch of the audio guide Words Images Thoughts Objects

Stian Remvik at BEK has designed and programmed the app Words Images Thoughts Objects, a site specific audio guide made by Vilde Salhus Røed for the Fine Art and Design Library, the University of Bergen Library. From Tuesday October 10th at 12.00, the audio guide will be available on iPads for use in the library, as well as for download at App Store and Google Play.

Ambisonics workshop ved SCRIME

As part of a short term residency at SCRIME Trond Lossius participates in a three day workshop on ambisonics and field recording. The workshop will be used to test out new ambisonic recording gear at SCRIME, field recordings and listening sessions, and offer an introduction to how to work with ambisonics in Reaper using the Ambisonic Toolkit.

Workshop: Introduction to Max

BEK offers a one-week introductory workshop to the software Max. Max is an intuitive graphical environment for real-time processing of all kinds of media (sound, video, MIDI, light, sensors and robotics), and can be used for music, sound art, video, installations, works for stage and in interaction design.
