“First Found, Then Lost” performance at BEK

An audiovisual performance, a concert of sounds and images will take place at BEK today at 8PM. The instruments are recorders and speakers, cameras and projectors. The game is ambience and narration and the players are Piya Wanthiang, Mathijs van Geest and Tolga Balci together with Morten Minothi Kristiansen and Josh Ginsberg from “Edge of Wrong”.

The Clinch

Elisabeth Færøy Lund, together with a crew, has been working on an art video to accompany Hanne Kolstø´s new album, Stillness and Panic. The video, based on her idea, was shot in august at Bontelabo and Bergen Kjøtt. BEK has supported the video with equipment.

This must be the place

Re: place is an art research project 2013-14 investigating (relationships between) place, time and memory as manifested in artistic works exploring image, sound, text – or combinations of these, in collaboration between KHIB, Oslo Academy of Art (KHIO) and The Grieg Academy. Trond Lossius is engaged by KHIB as project leader, and Anne Marthe Dyvi of BEK is among the contributing artists researchers. The main artistic outcome is a pair of exhibitions in Sandnes in the fall 2013.

Live streaming in the North East of Thailand

In august 2013 Piya Wanthiang, aspirant at BEK, travelled to her hometown village in the North East of Thailand, to explore possibilities of using live stream of the landscape as basis for upcoming installations and experiments. BEK supported the project with equipment, mentoring and time.

Durative Exercises

Durative Exercises is one weekend of art and music in the old villa in Kalfarlien 18, the 20th to the 22th of September. The villa is slowly changing from a private home in to a house for the arts. The metamorphose begins parallel to the Bergen Assembly, with a broad range of artistic content between the 30th of august until the end of October inside and outside the house from 1909 .

Workshop – Introduction to OpenMusic

OpenMusic is a freely available graphical program for computer-aided composition. With many tools and services for working with musical structures, OpenMusic is well-suited for work or musical composition and analysis. BEK offers a one-week workshop with Anders Vinjar. The workshop will provide an introduction to composition in OpenMusic for composers and creative musicians, combining joint presentations and more individual support for each participant and their projects.

Augmented Spatiality

Augmented spatiality is a public sound art project for the suburb of Hökarängen in Stockholm in which the artworks, performances and other comprised events are integrated into the social and spatial processes taking place in the public sphere. It is curated by María Andueza, and two artists from Bergen participate. Trond Lossius will be doing a temporary sound installation at the metro station in Hökarängen, while Cecilia Jonsson will be making use of window shops in Hökarängsplan.

A Dip in the Lake

After an intensive working period the project A Dip in the Lake will be shown on 6th and 7th of December at Cornerteateret. The work is based on soundrecordings from in and around Bergen and video.BEK has supported the project with equipment and working space.
