“Temporary Museum: Microscopic Power of Food Practices” by GaraGara Artist Initiative

See the digital presentation of the installation here. Can artistic methods be used to critically engage with present day behaviours around eating and consumption? TM:MPFP is an artistic speculation on food practices in relation to health, politics, culture and society. Food-biopolitics questions how the agency of food relates to genes, cell fragments, proteins, enzymes, bacteria and fungi and in a larger context to contemporary politics. GaraGara explores ideas related to food-biopolitics on a local and international scale.

Listening Through: Machine Learning for Sound-Makers – A workshop led by Luke Fischbeck

This will be a short, intensive workshop exploring the current state of machine learning techniques for working creatively with audio. As a set of approaches for predictive pattern-matching—classifying, categorizing, translating, generating, etc—machine learning has been applied to everything from captions to gestures to maps to MIDI.
