The lecture will try to provide an overview of the history of electronic music, important composers, works, schools and artistic practices.
BEK and Galleri 3,14 in cooperation with Maur Prosjekter/Maia Urstad invite to a presentation by James Webb and Marcus Neustetter. They will talk about their artistic work which includes sound, new media as well as cultural activism.
BEK invites to the presentation The music will not be broadcast by Brandon LaBelle. LaBelle is an artist and writer working with sound and cultural narratives. For the presentation LaBelle will share his recent projects and talk through related issues. In addition, he will present his new publication documenting his project Radio Memory.
Scott Rettberg is a Chicago native who now lives in Norway. He writes, and writes about new media and electronic literature. He is an associate professor of Humanistic Informatics at the University of Bergen.
As a performer, John Ferguson works with how electronic music and images can be manipulated and played, using physical interfaces and instruments.
Robert van Heumen will give a lecture about the work conducted at STEIM (Studio for Elecro-Instrumental Music), and demonstrate some of the software they have developed there.
The Bergen sound art artist Maia Urstad will talk about her artistic work with a particular emphasis on how she is working with sound in her projects.
