Trond Lossius contributes to a workshop at SCRIME – Studio de Création et de Recherche en Informatique et Musique Electro-acoustique at Université de Bordeaux.
He will discuss his use of surround field recordings in his artistic practice, and share his aesthetically and practical experience working with such recordings.
Atelier Nord ANX hosts a one-day seminar on surround sound recordings.
Gisle Tveito, Trond Lossius and Jana Winderen will reflect on their experience recording in surround. Anyone interested in sound recordings, and in particular surround sound recording for music, sound art, film, etc., are invited to join in and share thoughts, ideas and experience, or just meet up for discussions on recording and working with surround sound in general. Electric Audio Unit is an ensemble of musicians and composers based in Oslo which explores surround sound. At Ekkofestival 2013 two of the members, Natasha Barrett and Anders Vinjar, perform four works that expose the rich diversity of expressive possibilities offered by three-dimensional surround sound.
Sourround sound is used for film production, games, electronic music, video and sound installations and in sound design for stage. This workshop provides a practical and creative introduction to the topics for beginners, with a particular emphasis on equipment available at BEK and software developed at BEK.
