New employees at BEK

We are very excited to welcome Jennifer Garzon and Siren Løkaas to the BEK team. Starting in January 2025, Siren will join us as the new Information Manager, and Jennifer as Project Coordinator. They will work together to make BEK more visible, engaging, and accessible.

As many as 51 artists have immersed themselves in their projects during studio residencies at BEK throughout 2024. The artists are based in Bergen, Norway and internationally, and were invited on the basis of applications submitted to open calls.

BEK has joined the Apartheid Free Zones campaign, inspired by the struggle against apartheid in South Africa and seeking to cut links of complicity in Israeli violations of human rights in Palestine.

Film screenings: Come Here (2021) and The Human Surge 3 (2023), with director visit by Eduardo Williams

In collaboration with Bergen Filmklubb, we invite you to two experimental films that explore bodily autonomy and young people's movement across different borders, COME HERE by Anocha Suwichakornpong and THE HUMAN SURGE 3 by Eduardo Williams. Eduardo Williams presented a new commission work at BEK’s symposium in 2022, and now we have the pleasure of inviting him back for a talk during this double screening.
