We are very excited to welcome Jennifer Garzon and Siren Løkaas to the BEK team. Starting in January 2025, Siren will join us as the new Information Manager, and Jennifer as Project Coordinator. They will work together to make BEK more visible, engaging, and accessible.

Departing Information Manager, Johanne Øra Danielsen, has held the position since 2023 and will be moving on to the Bergen International Festival.

Jennifer (they/them) is the Deputy Chair and board member of AKKS Bergen, as well as the initiator and producer of Reclaim Pride Bergen.

They are involved with Comrades INC, a mutual aid organization supporting queer trans people with minority backgrounds in accessing gender-affirming healthcare through art and cultural events.

Jennifer has previously been the editor of the magazine FETT in Bergen and has worked at Fotogalleriet in Oslo, where they helped produce the first half of the nomadic project “Ta plass Norge/Sápmi.”

As Project Coordinator in a temporary position, Jennifer will be working at BEK until the spring of 2025, focusing on the production of events and projects, as well as various administrative tasks.

Siren Løkaas (she/her) has a versatile background in arts and culture. In recent years, she has worked with communications for Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter and the Lofoten International Art Festival, as well as with art mediation as a museum educator at Stavanger Art Museum.

Additionally, Siren is a long-time freelance writer and critic, published in both Norwegian and international media.

At BEK, Siren will work to develop and implement strategies for communication and information, as well as marketing, brand development, and audience engagement.
