Jamoma developers from France, US, England and Norway team up for a workshop at BEK in March. The workshop will focus on finalising specifications and implementation of model-view-controller separation for the upcoming 0.6 release, and speculate on future directions for development.

During a period of two months Anders Elsrud Hultgreen has been working and developing Evighetens Avkom, a video commisioned by BEK. This video has recently been shown for the first time at Stavanger Screen City, and now Anders will present his process and the work to us. The presentation will take place on 14.02 from 12h – 13h. The ongoing project Korsmos ugressarkiv by Kristin Tårnesvik & Espen Sommer Eide will have its first exhibition at Entrée Bergen. The project ascends from biologist Emil Korsmo’s (1863-1953) profoundly detailed and methodically preserved compilation of own material from a lifelong research into combating weeds.

OpenMusic is software for algorithmic and computer-aided composition, primarily developed at IRCAM for the OSX and Windows platform. For the past year Anders Vinjar, with support from BEK, has been porting OpenMusic to Linux. The first public beta of the Linix port is now available, OM_6.7 (beta_4), and will be presented at the upcomming IRCAM Forunm.

BEK and Bergen Public Library has collaborated on development of Bergen Leser – Sammen!, an installation for reading aloud. Here citizens of Bergen and users of the library can contribute towards a collective reading of litterature for a web audience by means of a digital installation. Opens Friday 18. October at 19.00.

Writings is a new sound art installation by Signe Lidén. The realisation of the work was made in collaboration with Roar Sletteland. All electronics are developed and manufactored at BEK. Writings will tour 3 countries as part of the Resonance Network Program.

In august 2013 Piya Wanthiang, aspirant at BEK, travelled to her hometown village in the North East of Thailand, to explore possibilities of using live stream of the landscape as basis for upcoming installations and experiments. BEK supported the project with equipment, mentoring and time.
