BEK offers a one-week introductory workshop to the software Max. Max is an intuitive graphical environment for real-time processing of all kinds of media (sound, video, MIDI, light, sensors and robotics), and can be used for music, sound art, video, installations, works for stage and in interaction design. Trond Lossius will present Ambisonic Toolkit for Reaper at #MTFScandi. Music Tech Fest is the free festival of music ideas, mixing performances and experiments, hacks, demos, and installations. OpenMusic is a software tool for computer-aided composition. In follow up to a introduction workshop at BEK a year ago, two of the participants have been commissioned to compose small works or etudes. In this meetup Marcus Davidson and Jostein Stalheim will present the outcomes of their work, and reflect on the process of learning and using OpenMusic.

Latest developments in spatial audio and computer aided composition tools from IRCAM

3 leading researchers from IRCAM visit Oslo for a series of presentations, workshops and round-table discussions relating to spatial audio and computer aided composition. The meetings take place at fourMs lab at University of Oslo and Norwegian Academy of Music, with additional participation from BEK, NOTAM and the Grieg Academy. The meeting is a follow up to the collaboration between BEK, Anders Vinjar and Ircam over the past 1 1/2 year regarding porting OpenMusic to Linux.
