Lunch Presentation at BEK – Vinyl Moves
BEK 22.05.2015 12.00–22.05.2015 13.00
Vinyl Moves will consist of four turntables and a dancer. The turntables are modified so that the speed can be adjusted infinitely in both directions, and the pin is moved mechanically to different locations on the disc. The dancer has to be equipped with motion sensors and will control the turntables using these sensors. The dancer dances and plays at the same time, creating a sort of concert where the music is a result of the movements.
What is the relationship between body, sound, turntables and room? It may involve an LP disc as stored movement, as solidified vibrations, and as sound being revived matter. And it will directly or indirectly focus on sound and dance as social interactions.
