Verktøykassen: Multi-screen video workshop (FULLY BOOKED)
Published
Please join us for an introductory one-day workshop on multi-channel video presentation techniques!
Date: Friday 28 April, 10:00-17:00
Place: BEK, C. Sundts gate 55
Sign-up: *UPDATE 24.04.23: the workshop is now fully booked.* Places are limited. The workshop is free and will be held in English. No prior knowledge is needed.
Led by BEK’s producers Kaeto Sweeney and Morten Halvorsen, the workshop will show how to set up a simple looping video for installations with a media player device, speakers and a screen/projector. We will focus on two systems: networked Raspberry Pi and BrightSign media players. If you’re interested in looping one video, looping three different videos in sync across a gallery space, or playing one video over four screens creating a wall, this workshop will go step by step through these setups and will offer a basis for further exploration.
Bring your ideas and video for an informal show, tell and questions after the workshop.
This workshop draws on resources from many great educators, coders, artists and hobbyists alike. The internet is full of amazing tutorials, snippets of code and handbooks; and in this workshop, BEK’s producers will guide you through an amalgamation of these.
The workshop is part of Verktøykassen – BEK’s low-threshold series for learning and trying out new technical tools, both hardware and software. With hands-on, highly interactive sessions, Verktøykassen workshops are open to artists with different levels of experience.
