The Carrier (2020) by Hanan Benammar Video installation, video 17:22 min.
For many of us living in an urban context, pigeons are often described as “flying rats”. However, breeding pigeons is still a popular practice among small communities in Europe, and larger ones in the Middle-East. While narrating stories involving pigeons as protagonists, Hanan Benammar’s The Carrier is observing a loft or “duekleiv” in Askøy with a spy camera.
