Phonophani at Landmark

Espen Sommer Eide is an artist and musician. He represents 50% of the duo Alog, together with Dag-Are Haugan. Alog won the Spellemannspris in the electronica category in 2008. In addition to mastering several instruments, Espen is also an expert in digital electronics, programming and making instruments, which says a lot about why his music is so original.
In his solo project, Phonophani, he uses his own homemade software to create highly experimental electronic sounds with great sensitivity to detail and syncopated rhythms. Espen has now released the new album “Kreken”, which has been described as an album in which the boundaries between the traditional and the electronic has been erased, and where the music stretches toward the infinite and unique. “Kreken” is based, among other things, on Espens electronic new reading of elements from Norwegian folk music. Parts of the work on this CD has been developed here at BEK.
