We are happy and excited to welcome two new members into the BEK team! From August 2021, BEK has hired Åsne Hagen as information manager and Kaeto Sweeney as production assistant in art and technology.

Åsne Hagen is the new information manager. Before joining BEK, she held the position of market coordinator at Tekstallmenningen and, prior to that, managing director of said entity during the startup stage. She has previously worked in communications across a range of fields and sectors, as a web editor and project manager. Hagen holds a master´s degree in sociology from the University of Bergen. Her predecessor at BEK, Vilde Salhus Røed, has worked in the position of information manager since 2016. Røed, a visual artist, leaves the position in order to devote more time to her own artistic practice.

Kaeto Sweeney joins BEK as production assistant in art and technology. Among his tasks will be managing our production facilities and resources, program work residencies and work closely with art projects being developed and produced at BEK. In parallel, he works as the bachelor program manager/research assistant at the Art Academy – Department of Contemporary Art, KMD, University of Bergen. Sweeney is a visual artist educated at the Art Academy, University of Bergen, and L’École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy. He works primarily with film and performance and he is the producer for the experimental film club: ASTERISK Film Klubb and queer club night: ASTERISK.
