Kjersti Sundland

Kjersti Sundland (b. 1972) is a multimedia artist based in Bergen, working within a collaborative and research based methodology. Inspired by feminist philosophies, Sundland explores through video, live performances and time-based installations how the history of technology and occult practices are intertwined and influence our conceptions of gender. 

Sundland holds a BA in Fine Art from Coventry University, and an MA in Fine Art from Royal College of Art, London. Sundland was between 20011-2016 assistant professor in new media at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited at Kunsthall 3,14 (Bergen), Museum of Modern Art (Bologna), TICA Center for Contemporary Art (Tiran), Punkt Ø (Moss), Unge Kunstneres Ssamfund (Oslo), Trøndelag senter for Samtidskunst, Galleri Brandstrup (Oslo) and Artopia Gallery (Milano). Her videos and live video performances has been presented amongs others at PureScreen (Castlefield), Cork Film Center, B4 Play Video (Berlin), Netmage (Bologna), AudioVisiva (Milan), and VideoLisboa.
