Fat Battery will perform at the Soundwaves festival in Brighton at the Old Market venue sunday june 24th. An evening of novel and at times outrageous sounds to conclude the Soundwaves Festival. Fat Battery is a quintet of musicians from the UK and Norway, emerging from comissioned works by Alwynne Pritchard, Knut Vaage and Thorolf Thuestad(BEK) for Victoria Johnson’s electric violin. Their work focuses on group improvisations/game pieces using amplified/acoustic voice, baroque, classical and electric violins, Hardanger fiddle, piano/keyboards, percussion, computers, electronics, lo-fi contraptions, home-made instruments and found objects.
