Throughout the year, BEK welcomes the public to presentations, screenings, conversations [talks]? and  concerts with artists and musicians using technology in their practice. We’re showing projects developed in our studios, new artworks commissioned by BEK, and work-in-progress with artists in studio residencies. We also present a discursive programme inviting artists, researchers and the public to take part in discussions about broader technology-related issues.

One of our main annual events is BEK Opening Week – a mini-festival in February with artist talks, workshops, performances and film screenings. Opening Week allows us to open up to the public what BEK is working with and provide insight into the otherwise invisible processes going on in our studios and labs. Here, we present projects developed at BEK, the work of artists who are entangled with our community in various ways, and shedding light on some of the questions we are researching.

We collaborate with several art and culture organisations in Bergen about presentations and screenings, participating with our projects annually in B-open, Bergen Art Book Fair, Kulturnatt Bergen, and more.

Projects developed at BEK are also presented to the public through our extended network of collaboration partners regionally, nationally and in Europe (from Bergen Kunsthall and Borealis in Bergen and Kabuso in Øystese, to the Astrup Fearnley Museum and Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo, Barents Spektakel in Kirkenes and Festspillene i Nord-Norge in Harstad, to the Berlinale in Germany, Oscillation in Belgium and Kontejner in Croatia).
