Welcome to the Master Exhibition in Art 2011, featuring graduate students from Bergen National Academy of the Arts: Pines and Powerlines, Bergen Kunsthall.
In Pines and Powerlines you will be drawn into the energy field that is contemporary art Take a walk-about in a manifold nature that is examined and analyzed from 24 widely differing points of view.
Humanity’s relationship with nature and with various different cultures is expressed through mythical, mystical and nostalgic works of art, where the past and future meet in the present. A rational and technological language is drained of meaning and logic, and then reconstructed within new contexts. These constructed realities are explored through video works, photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. The exhibition consists of works that are ambitious in size and theme, and that display distinctive, energetic forms of expression.
