Artist talk: Bjørnar Habbestad

Bjørnar Habbestad (f. 1976) is educated as flutist from Bergen, London and Amsterdam. He work as a chamber music in POLYGON, improviser in LEMUR, noise musician in REHAB, ensemble musician in N Ensemble and electro-acoustic musician in USA/USB. In collaboration with jørgen Larsson he has realized a number of conceptual sound art projects and installations within the framework of TELART.
From his base in Bergen he has established a profiled carreer within contemporary music practises. He has performed at most major Norwegian scenes and festivals for contemporary music: Ultima, Borealis, Nu Music, Ny Musikk Oslo/Bergen/Stavanger/Trondheim as well as being soloist with Trondheim Symfoniorkester, Residenzorkester Berlin and assamissimassa. He has topured extensively in Scandinavia, Europe, Asia and USA. He co-fundedd N-Collective in 2003, and is today director of N Ensemble, co-curator for Lydgalleriet, and run the recordlabel +3dB in collaboration in collaboration with jørgen Knudsen.
