Welcome to this self presentation by Diva Helmy Friday 12th of May at 15.00. Diva recently graduated with a master degree in visual arts from KHIB/UiB, and at the master exhibition triage at Bergen Kunsthall one could experience her performance A Dancer’s Territory. In the presentation at BEK she will talk about her work, and the potentials of the human body to expand its presence using interactive technology.
Diva Helmy (b. 1993 lives and works in Norway) is an art/technology artist from Los Angeles, California. Diva creates projects that transmit internal activities of the body to the external world. Recent works materialize intimate interactions between humans through the integration of movement/vibration based devices and brain signal sensors as a way to communicate with one another in embodied ways. She is an alumnus of the Parsons Paris BFA Art, Media and Technology program in Paris, France and the MA in Fine Art program at Fakultet for kunst, musikk og design at the University of Bergen in Norway.
