At last year’s Bergen International Festival Sigbjørn Apeland’s Organ Tower made quite a stir. This year at Borealis it will be nothing short of spectacular, with the tower expanded to fi ll the Logen theatre stage, and providing all kinds of music from Noise to the English Renaissance across the night.
Asamisimasa is one of Norway’s most exciting and uncompromising young groups. This concert will feature four pieces by Michael Finnissy.
Mem1 (Mark + Laura Cetilia) seamlessly blend the sounds of cello and electronics, with their improvisational performances moving beyond melody, lyricism, and traditional structural confines to reveal an organically evolved narrative.
Whistle Pig Saloon is Robert van Heumen and John Ferguson. van Heumen is director of STEIM, a centre that develops new electronic instrument interfaces.
The concert is a collaboration between Borealis and BEK, and has received funding from the Arts Council Norway.
