BEK Off-Centred: Dakn
Published
As part of our remote residency programme BEK Off-Centred, we have been collaborating with Ramallah-based artist Dakn. Together with Another Sky Festival, we have commissioned a new sound piece from Dakn – داكنْ Heart Gate’ – which had its world premiere on 21 September 2024 at Cafe OTO in London.
Dakn is a multigenre producer, rapper and selector. His captivating and thought-provoking music constantly expands, with an unmatched ability to challenge norms. His daring exploration of sounds and styles has led to widespread recognition as a versatile artist. His acclaimed debut LP too low/too far was released on Bilna’es بالناقص..
داكنْ Heart Gate’
The piece takes place in the opposite of an imagined present, when much of the world has fallen victim to the wicked. Heart Gate is the name of this journey that slows down time and space to feel the extremities of this place.
