Ukrainian-born and Berlin-based Kateryna Zavoloka, who goes by the stage name Zavoloka, is a composer, sound artist, performer, and visual artist who devotes herself to orchestrating uncompromising experimental music free from genre-dependent definitions and styles. Her works stem from a strong conceptual research-based core, and combines traditional and mechanical elements.

In addition to performing live audio-visual solo sets, participating in cross-genre art projects, co-running the experimental music labels Kvitnu and Prostir with Dmytro Fedorenko (a.k.a. Kotra), being a part of the interdisciplinary mixed media project Cluster Lizard, Zavoloka is renowned for visual cover art creations and graphic designs.

In 2005, Zavoloka was awarded as Honorary Mention in Digital Music & Sound Art with Prix Ars Electronica for the “Plavyna” album. In 2019, her album “Promeni” was nominated as Best Album in Ukraine by Aprize awards.

Zavoloka performs regularly and her music has been presented in various concert halls, clubs, contemporary art museums, theaters, open-air concerts, and festivals, such as  Superbooth20 (DE), Presences Electronique (FR), CTM (DE), MadeiraDig (PT), Unsound New York (USA), Kvitnu Fest (UA), Rewire (NL), Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (ES), ZKM (DE), etc.
