OPEN VIDEO STUDIO: Natalia Kasprzycka
During her residency in BEK’s video studio, Natalia is working on a project titled “Gullkistan/The Gold Chest”, which draws a parallel between volcanoes and steelworks as geological forces.
Natalia Kasprzycka is an artist based between Bergen and Stoke-on-Trent (UK). Working at the intersection of material and new media based practices, she investigates matter flows between natural and artificial landscapes. Works take form of installations, video, objects and publications, as well as public works and workshops, shaped by the material conditions of the sites she works with.
OPEN ELECTRONICS LAB: Mia Maria Norum Robsahm
At BEK she has been in the electronic lab exploring all the possibilities there, from soldering to electronic adjustment. For B-OPEN she will invite you in to her temporary lab and you will be able to see some in-process and previous works by her.
Mia Maria Norum Robsahm primarily works with interactive installations and has previously made a huge cardboard box with a hidden door, a portable sausage stand and a nail salon. She uses humour and pop-cultural persuasion as tools and inspiration. For her master project she will show a video-installation.
OPEN PROJECT SPACE: Juan Carlos Duarte Regino
Juan Duarte (MX/FI) is a media and sound artist working with self-built instruments, physical computing, and atmospheric listening — installations and live performances that translate atmospheric conditions into audible form.
During his BEK residency he is preparing Augury: Divinatory Interfaces, opening at MO Museum in Vilnius in October 2026, and continuing work on Resonant Wind, an autonomous aeolian instrument, and Smoking Mirror, a live performance for obsidian interface and electronics.
His recent work has been developed through residencies at Nida Art Colony, Baltic Analog Lab, and [ASTE, Liepāja], and presented at RIXC Gallery Riga, Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre, PACT Zollverein, Medialab Matadero Madrid, and Tsonami Festival. During his stay he is glad to meet people working with sound, environmental media, and performance in Bergen.
