TouchDesigner /learn with Martha Steinmetz
A part of an ongoing series of workshops for anyone curious about visual programming with TouchDesigner.

18–21 August
Nest – Listening as Collective Practice with pantea and others
A gathering, exploring listening as a way of relating to environments, communities, and more-than-human worlds. Developed and conveyed by sound artist pantea, with contributions from Carolyn Rosten, Mehdi Torkaman, Amber Ablett, Associació So, Radio alHara – راديو الحارة, and Jiennagoahti.

28 September – 3 October
Acousmonium, A Workshop with INA GRM at DUI
BEK and INA GRM (Music Research Group of the National Audiovisual Institute, FR) invite musicians and sound artists to a workshop on the acousmonium sound diffusion system, where we will build and experiment with a temporary, locally developed acousmomium with about 40 loudspeakers. The workshop is addressed to practitioners interested in multichannel sound and immersive composition based on studio- and field recordings, and working both with acoustic and synthetic music. The workshop will be followed by an informal public presentation, as well as a launch of the Acousmonium Handbook published by INA GRM in 2026.

Workshop in video editing with Nayara Leite
A workshop for beginners  introducing participants to the basic tools and techniques for editing video using Adobe Premiere.

Abstract Turntablism with Maria Chávez
During the two-hour workshop, participants will work with turntables and vinyl as instruments themselves.

Workshop in Blender and Unity with Magnus Hagen Olsen
A workshop introducing participants to the basics of 3D modelling, animation and interactive world-building.

23-26 November
Making a Film Collectively with Marwa Arsanios
What does it mean to make a film collectively from scratch? In this workshop we will focus on collective filmmaking processes under a broad umbrella of “anarchist filmmaking”. We will study specific methodologies that have been used by existing groups in order to test them and build on them in our own practice.

An evening on BEK’s rooftop terrace and in our studios where we invite artists, collaborators, neighbours and curious visitors to come together for BBQ, conversations, music and an introduction to our autumn programme.

3 October
Acousmonium Performance with INA GRM at DUI
Following the workshop on building a temporary Acousmonium system, we invite everyone to an informal concert, where historical pieces composed for Acousmonium will be performed by the INA GRM team, and some of the workshop outcomes will be presented by the participants.
