Maya Økland (b. 1980 in Bergen) is an artist and curator. She holds an MFA in photography from the Bergen Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, and has since been working in the art field in several Norwegian cities. As an artist she is currently exhibiting at Liljevalchs Vårsalong in Stockholm and her artworks are in the public collections of KORO, KODE and Halland Art Museum. As a curator, she has worked at Kunsthall Stavanger and was art advisor for the sculpture dedicated to human rights activist Kim Friele in Bergen. In the fall of 2025, Økland will publish her next photo book entitled “Worried Landscapes”.
