María Andueza Olmedo, currently a guest researcher at BEK, will give a lecture on her PhD research. The lecture is part of the workshop Sound in Space conducted by Trond Lossius and Nils Peters.

BEK invites former contemporary artist Ron Sluik for a public lecture Thursday 4th March at HKS.

A two day lecture and workshop on artistic and practical work with sound and spatialisation.

Music students at Stord videregåande skule will visit BEK the 4. of February. They will be presented to some of the things we’re doing, and given a brief introduction to various works which BEK has been involved in.

This week the artist Maia Urstad will be talking about her own work at the intersection of contemporary music, sound and visual art. In her work sound is usually integrated with specific locations.

“Listening to Donald Judd” is a collaboration between BEK and KHIB.

Gerhard Eckel is Professor of Computer Music and Multimedia at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM), University of Music and Performing Arts (KUG) in Graz, Austria. He creates sound and music installations for real and virtual spaces, which are presented at international festivals, conferences and trade fairs as well as in museums and galleries. He is currently artist-in-residency in Bergen, working on a commision for the upcoming Borealis festival.

Trond Lossius (BEK) & Pascal Baltazar (GMEA) will be giving a presentation at The Centre for Digital Music, Queen Mary University of London. An introduction to Jamoma will be provided with particular emphasis on work on spatialisation and DBAP.
