Say hello to Walla Walla Valhalla! A gathering around experimental film, moving image and other concepts related to the outskirts of film production.
WWV it’s a two-day event starting on Saturday 18th of November with film screenings from artists Von Calhau! (PT) and Marius Mørch (NO). On Sunday 19th there will be a masterclass from Von Calhau! at BEK. Both days are free and open to everybody!
Saturday November 18th at 16.00 at Isotop: Film screening, hangout, food!

Sunday November 19th at 15.00 at BEK: Masterclass with Von Calhau!
The focus in this masterclass will be on poetic devices as means to construct and deconstruct content. Specifically, we will be talking about visual poetry and language games within our work process. Von Calhau! will be sharing their research methodologies; references and tools regarding their work, and the use of different media.

About

Von Calhau! (2006-) is a Portuguese art collective working with film, music, performance and graphics. Their practice, truly subterranean, emerges from different mediums while continuously affirming a shamanic – necessarily “urban” – state of affairs. More info about Von Calhau! here.

Marius Mørch attended Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen in 1999-2004. Mørch has repeatedly used sampling and manipulation of scenes from films, that he cuts and assembles in new sequences, creating a different content and function, than what was initially intended. The film sequences often appear in a repetitive and reiterated pattern that supports and amplifies the occurring themes.

WWV masterclasses have the main goal of providing tools and knowledge throughout art practices, therefore they are directed to methods and processes.

WWV is organized by Ramsalt, and is supported by Bergen Municipality, BEK and Hordaland County.
