The Prodigal Son Revisited
At present Maia Urstad is doing a “vertical dive in time”, revisiting cassette- and tape works from her former installations and performances.
In ToBe Continued… she brushes the dust off a former theatre piece, The Prodigal Son, and uses it as a starting point for her live streaming. This old material, influenced by time and former technologies is mixed together with present sound material taken from recordings of carrier waves in communication and other sferic signals.
The Prodigal Son was directed by Prosjektteatret / Tone Tjemsland in 1991 (NO). It was based on a play by the Norwegian philosopher Peter Wessel Zappfe. On violin: Torgeir Leivdal; all other sounds and music: Maia Urstad.

Tobe Continued 2013 – Stop TB Day music marathon is related to limiting the spread of tuberculosis. March 24 is not just any date picked out of thin air. It was on this day back in 1882 that German scientist Robert Koch announced that he had found the cause of the illness TB bacillus.
