The paper summarises some of the experience gained from work on art installations including spatial sound, with particular emphasis on possible benefits and limitations of standardised solutions for interfacing with spatialisation techniques.

The paper was presented as part of a panel session during International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) 2008 on interchange format for spatial audio scenes.

The topic of the panel session is now continued within the “SpatDIF”:htp://www.spatdif.org initiative.
